Mistral’s fine-tuning features, Nothing’s AI phone, Asana’s “AI teammates”

AI will change the way we work.

Hello, Starters!

How do you see the future of AI? Like a sci-fi movie, apocalyptic, or like a practical tool to improve our lives? Whatever you choose, it's exciting to anticipate, right?

Here’s what you’ll find today:

  • Mistral AI introduces new fine-tuning options

  • Nothing’s approach to AI with the Phone 3

  • Asana presents “AI teammates”

  • Elon Musk plans for a powerful supercomputer

  • Stability AI launches Stable Audio Open 1.0

  • And more.

Mistral has presented new customization options for their AI models, including paid plans for a software development kit (SDK) called Mistral-Finetune, designed for workstations, servers, and small data centre nodes; API-based fine-tuning compatible with Mistral Small and Mistral 7B; and custom training services for any Mistral model, although this last option is currently available only to select customers.

This approach allows developers and enterprises more control over the generative models they train for specific use cases, harnessing Mistral's technologies to integrate AI into their processes.

For a while, we've been discussing how AI is gearing towards smaller devices, and that's exactly what Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, has in mind for the company's new offerings. He states that smartphones are set to become the AI gadgets of the future, and that this technology will transform the way we use our phones.

All of these changes and transformations are reportedly coming to Nothing's Phone 3, which the CEO refers to as their first true AI phone. Although there is no definite launch date yet, following the tradition of Nothing's July launches, we might get a sneak peek soon.

Asana, the work management platform, is bringing the power of AI to teams with their latest tool, "AI teammates." This AI model uses information about historical relationships and past projects to generate plans on how teams should work together to streamline tasks. It aligns members with matching skill sets and continuously gathers data to improve the overall process.

The feature is currently under testing, but it's a great showcase of how AI can reshape workflows. Rather than taking away jobs, it focuses on optimising and automating tasks to achieve better results, always with human intervention involved.

💥Focusing on making xAI one of the most promising AI companies of the moment, CEO Elon Musk has revealed plans for a new investment, which includes turning an old factory in Memphis, US, into the home of the world's most powerful supercomputer, dubbed the "Gigafactory of Compute."

🎶Stability AI has recently launched Stable Audio Open 1.0, a tool designed to create short pieces of audio, such as sound effects. Users can harness the open model to generate up to 47 seconds of high-quality sounds through text prompts, with Stability AI ensuring that no copyrighted material was used for its training.
